WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR

The Word

Isaiah 43: 18-19

18 Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

The Message

As I went to bed on the last day of 2011, I asked the Lord to send me a word in my sleep. I was so sure I would have a dream with Him appearing to me like He did with Joseph, Mary’s husband. I was so happy to see 2011 end. I felt the New Year would bring closure to all the events of 2011. So as I went to bed I was very expectant.

Behold I woke up on the first day of 2012 and I was quite clear-eyed. I did not have any dream, infact I slept like a baby. It was a Sunday morning. I needed to get my family up for church. So I did not have time to be disappointed about not getting a Word. But, like most of us, I reached out for my Blackberry and there it was. A text message from my neice-in-law, ‘Do not remember the former things………’

I was so glad. Call it a coincidence or whatever but that was my Word. How did I know? There were so many things that had taken place in my family in 2011 that I needed to forget and move on. I did not just need to move on, but I needed to know that Good was in the new things that were beginning to unfold as the year 2011 ended. I felt like a bird loosed from it’s cage.

You may feel like I did as the 2011 ended. Take this as a Word to you for 2012. It does not matter what happened in 2011, forget them, don’t even consider them. God is starting something new NOW. Embrace the new things and watch them unfold. He still has good thoughts towards us. Just receive them. Happy new year. Ck
